How are glass perfume bottles made?

The production of glass perfume bottles can be accomplished by one of two different processes - blow molding or compression blow molding. Each process is chosen according to the type of glass perfume bottle being manufactured.

To obtain the final glass perfume bottle shape, one of two processes is used.

First, the pressing and blow molding processes are carried out.

The pressure blowing process is the most commonly used method in glass bottle manufacturing.

Secondly, the blow molding process

The blow molding process is used to create narrow containers. It also requires an IS machine to gravity feed the molten glass chunks into the mold.

Anyway, once the bottle is fully formed, it is removed from the mold and transferred to an annealing furnace. The annealer then reheats the bottles to about 1,050 degrees Fahrenheit before gradually cooling them to about 390 degrees Fahrenheit. This process allows the glass to cool at an even rate.

Note: Glass perfume bottles are carefully inspected to ensure compliance with quality control guidelines. The glass perfume bottles are then packed on pallets and ready for shipping.
