The main reason for using brown wine bottles is to prevent the oxidation of the wine in the bottle. We all know that a small amount of oxygen will not affect the quality of the wine, but when there is too much oxygen in the bottle, the quality of the wine will rapidly deteriorate. Wine itself contains some antioxidants during production, which can effectively prevent the rapid oxidation of wine. However, sunlight can destroy the antioxidants in wine. Brown wine bottles filter out light and protect the antioxidants and tannins in the wine. Therefore, many wine bottles we see are usually colored.
