Storm bottle, also called weather forecast bottle.
Storm Glass is a weather forecasting tool. A transparent solution composed of several chemical substances is placed in an airtight glass container. According to the change of the outside temperature, different types of crystals will appear in the bottle to predict the change of the weather.
The storm bottle is a device used to indicate the weather. The main body is a sealed glass bottle filled with a solution. Users can predict the weather by checking the solution in the bottle.
If the liquid is clear, it means that the weather will be fine; if the liquid is hazy, sometimes accompanied by sediment, then the weather will be cloudy like a solution; if there is a suspended sediment in the solution, it portends wet weather or frost; If suspended sediment and hazy liquid coexist, it means that a storm is coming; if there is sediment suspended in the liquid on a clear winter day, it means snow; Large deposits, it will be cloudy; if there are crystals at the bottom of the glass, it means frost; if there are swirls at the top, it means windy.
(The weather forecast is not accurate, it just changes with the temperature and can be used as an ornament.)
Material
2.5g potassium nitrate, 2.5g ammonium chloride, 33ml distilled water, 40ml ethanol, 10g camphor
process
The first step is to take 10g of camphor (note that it must be natural camphor)
The second step, absolute ethanol 40mL
The 3rd step, get potassium nitrate, ammonium chloride is altogether 5g. Distilled water 33mL
The fourth step, pour the ammonium chloride potassium nitrate solution into the designated container
The fifth step, pour the camphor ethanol solution into it and mix it well
Step 6: Heat distilled water, dissolve potassium nitrate and ammonium chloride, add ethanol, then add camphor, and place the solution in a test tube with a cork.
